My 2018 Camaro SS has been doing this weird split personality thing with the AC and it's driving me absolutely nuts now that the outside temps are climbing again. The passenger vent is pumping out perfectly chilled air that could probably preserve meat, meanwhile the driver side vents are just blasting what feels like ambient desert air straight into my face no matter what I set the dual zone controls to. I've tried syncing the temperatures, cranking it to LO on both sides, turning the car off and on again hoping it would reset whatever actuator is stuck, but nothing changes. My first guess is the blend door actuator on the driver side has called it quits because I've read these sixth gen Camaros have a few of them buried in the dash and they're known to fail in the most inconvenient way possible. I'm not about to tear the dashboard apart myself in this heat with a set of plastic trim tools and a YouTube tutorial filmed in someone's garage in Ohio. I've been asking around in a few local muscle car groups and keep seeing the same name pop up for Sharjah Camaro AC Skilled Repair Experts who apparently know exactly which actuator to go after without disassembling more of the interior than absolutely necessary. Anyone else had this exact half cold half hot situation in their Camaro and can confirm if it's just a straightforward actuator swap or if I should mentally prepare for something more involved like the actual heater core flap being jammed?
