What was the first cassette/vinyl you owned?

Oh Good Lord, am I old, I don't remember the first one I had, but at one point, I had well over 500 cassettes. I put them into storage, and that was a huge mistake, they all got destroyed in the allegedly "safe" environment of the facility. As for Vinyl, I don't quite remember that either but some of my early ones were the Beatles "Blue" and "Red" Albums, KC and the Sunshine Band, and KISS.

My mom bought me The Grease Soundtrack as my first album. Actually showing my age, it was an 8 track because my mom had a 70’s Cadillac. I think my first album that I bought was either Prince Purple Rain or Madonna’s Like a Virgin. I think I got them both at the same time.

You are definitely a bit younger than me, although my mom had 8 tracks, I never did. I had vinyl and than cassettes. Purple Rain and Madonna's like a Virgin were both coming out in my first year of college, if memory serves.

I can't remember the first cassette that i owned but I remember the first vinal. My parents were into Jazz so that's what I listened to then. The first vinyl that I owned was an album by Miles Davis called Milestones. It was a studio album.

Owned or bought with my own money?
I was given the Spellbound single by Siouxsie and the Banshees by this boy at school but the first record I ever bought was Echo and the Bunnymen.
