We are creating a universe of music and media that will take you back to your youth, and yet, let you create fresh memories, make new friends, and experience some of the best music events of your life! Meet the Team
Mark Burton (Pop-Daze Visionary and Partner): Pop-Daze® was Mark’s concept. His background includes being an attorney and a partner at California Capital Partners, a Private Equity fund/merchant bank. Besides guiding Pop-Daze towards the future, he currently is in the Berklee Master of Arts in Music Business program. Mark is a passionate lover of all genres of music from the 20’s through today, but he has a particular love of music from the second half of the 20th-Century. Mark plays the drums, albeit fairly poorly.
John Nelson (Partner): John has a long and storied career as a venture capitalist, a college professor, and a merchant banker. He currently is the managing partner of California Capital Partners and in addition to his overseeing the financial aspects of Pop-Daze®, he is focusing a great deal of his time on finding and financing sustainable solutions in the housing and commercial building sectors, particularly in Latin America. John is a multi-instrumentalist, playing trumpet, guitar, bass, and keyboards.
Tami Danielson (Director of Operations and In-house Blogger): Tami is a long time professional writer and social media guru. Starting in the ‘80s, Tami wrote for the Tampa Tribune, NASCAR®, and numerous auto racetracks. Her favorite interview for a periodical was that of Shaquille O’Neal when he was picked up by the Orlando Magic. Tami has overseen social media for a wide variety of bands over the past decade and loves all forms of music but has a particular affection for 80’s rock and power rock. Tami helps coordinate Pop-Daze’s® social media, sponsorship/advertising and generally keeps the partners in line. She also drafts a substantial portion of the community’s blogs.
Danny Barros (Director of Marketing): Danny Barros is the Founder and President of Hitskope Music Group, an artist management and label services firm. He is a visionary change-maker with over a decade of successful artist management and music marketing experience. Danny is a graduate of the Music Business Program at Berklee College of Music and holds a Professional Certification in Digital Marketing from Cornell University. He is an active member of the Music Business Association and Music Managers Forum US.
Board of Advisors
Owen Hendricks: Daughter of the incomparable Mama Cass of the Mamas and Papas, Owen knows the music world like few others. She currently oversees not only her mother’s estate interests in music but also fronts representation for the Mamas and Papas’ band. In addition, she and her husband were involved in the drafting and advocating for the recent Music Modernization Act.
Donald Jacobs: Donald has more than 40 years of business experience in wide variety of areas from finance to marketing and in industries as varied as banking and medical devices. Donald has particular knack for helping start-ups develop into successful enterprises.
Andy Luckey: Son of the world renown animator (Pixar and Disney), Bud Luckey, Andy is player in the entertainment field himself, having produced the animated series “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles,” directed and produced games for Virgin Interactive game company and later was President and COO of Pure Interactive Entertainment. Andy is currently overseeing the formation of a entertainment focused private equity fund.
